Why ECG

Retrieval can find the record. It cannot prove the decision state.

You already have search, data platforms, and AI assistants. ECG establishes what those systems were permitted to supply, which source was authoritative, and whether the evidence was sufficient for a defined decision.

The decision threshold

Relevant content must pass six tests before an agent relies on it.

01Authorized
02Authoritative
03Current
04Sufficient
05Contradiction-aware
06Reproducible
Search versus evidence

Different input. Different optimization. Different artifact.

Search remains a valuable retrieval provider. ECG operates after candidate generation and before consequential action.

Enterprise search or RAGEnterpriseContextGraph
Begins with a natural-language queryBegins with a structured Decision Evidence Request
Optimizes for relevanceOptimizes for evidence the AI is allowed to trust
Returns accessible, relevant resultsReturns the evidence required for the decision—nothing more
Primarily enforces document visibilityChecks the agent, the person, the workload, and the purpose
Usually emphasizes current indexed stateChecks what was valid and known at the moment of decision
Ranks sources by relevance or qualityUses the source that officially governs the decision
May suppress or blend disagreementSurfaces conflicting records instead of hiding them
Missing content may be invisibleNames required evidence that is missing
Produces answers and citationsProduces an Evidence Receipt and an Auditable Decision Record
A later query may return something differentPreserves the original evidence state for reconstruction
Required distinction
“Search finds information. EnterpriseContextGraph establishes admissible evidence.”

The graph is the architectural substrate. The Context Bundle and Evidence Manifest are what the customer buys and what downstream systems can verify.
